The sanskrit word Bhava loosely translates to feeling, approach, attitude or intention. I believe that the Bhava is how we set the foundation, not only for our Yoga practice, but for how we approach each day, and our entire lives. How do we approach the mat? how do we start each day? How do we want to live and experience life? With sweetness and joy? Love and grace? Peacefulness and ease? Its your life, its your Yoga. Yoga is about bringing balance and harmony to our lives, so that we can deepen our connections, feel empowered and free, and be free to experience ourselves in all that we are. Yoga is the process of balancing, loving and owning all of yourself, both the light and the dark. We are each unique individuals, each requiring different things to bring about balance. By seeing all of ourselves, loving it, accepting it, forgiving and owning it whatever is there, whoever we are, we bring about an internal harmony. Finding peace within. This takes a balanced path of both gentle effort and gentle surrender. Once we're in harmony within ourselves, the Yoga becomes about being in harmony with the world around us. By exploring our connection with the world around and finding our natural place in it. This is the Yoga. I truly feel the key to life, the key to Yoga, is self love. Yoga is the practice of self love. When we find that balance, when we bring about that equanimity, and that inner/outer harmony, it seems that the experience of union, of connection arises naturally. Unity with all that we are within and without. Its your life, its your Yoga, its your journey. Enjoy it! You are Yoga.
