Sarah was lucky to be introduced to Yoga at school as a teenager in England. Whilst living in Australia in the early 90′s she learned with an Iyengar Yoga teacher who’s enthusiasm for Yoga laid the foundation for her own continuous practice and future teaching. She moved with her husband and two boys to Singapore in 2012 and teaches condo, studio and private classes in the Bukit Timah area. A former English teacher and tennis coach, Sarah is passionate about how to teach people in the the most accessible, engaging and safest way. She also understands how our daily habits and thought patterns stress our bodies and minds. She strives to help people to holistically transform themselves to be the best and happiest they can be. Having had multiple back injuries and existing chronic problems, Sarah has also become particularly knowledgeable on how to keep the back strong and flexible with yoga. Her classes have proved invaluable for people with existing back problems as well as preventing them occurring in others. Sarah’s classes are fun and nurturing and every student is encouraged to practice safely within his or her limits, whether in a one to one private class or a large group class. So don’t worry if you can’t touch your toes! Poses are sequenced logically and creatively to gradually open and strengthen your body – and mind. Although finally nailing a pose you once though unreachable is wonderful, you are encouraged to be in the moment, letting the practice and your progress unfold in it’s own time. Sarah has learned from many wonderful teachers around the world including Noah Maze, Leela Millar, Sarah Powers, Christina Sell, Judith Hanson Lasater and Desiree Rumbaugh. She has completed two 200 hour teacher training courses, is a Thai massage therapist and recently finished a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology. Other formal trainings have been with Sarah Powers in Yin/ Yang and Insight Yoga/ meditation, Judith Lasater in Restorative Yoga and Thai Yoga massage therapy at advanced level with the Ong Massage School in Chiang Mai. Sarah is currently studying with Noah Maze leading up to her 500 RYT hour certification.
